The Tuition Assistance (TA) program provides financial assistance for voluntary off-duty education programs in support of a Soldier's professional and personal self-development goals. Starting October 01, 2002 the amount of coverage that the Army Tuition Assistance provided increase to 100% from 75%. Caps are in place to limit the amount of coverage that Army tuition assistance provides per credit hour, but most will find that the 100% coverage that the Army provides will be more than enough to further their education.
All qualified Active Duty Soldiers (Officers, Warrant Officer and Enlisted) are authorized to participate in the Army tuition assistance program. The Army's Tuition Assistance is now available through a new portal (GoArmyEd). The move from processing TA paperwork at education centers to an online process to handle the Army tuition assistance was made April, 2006.
Members of the Active Guard Reserve, as well as Reserve Component Soldiers who are activated under U.S. Code Title 10 or Title 32 are eligible to receive Army Tuition Assistance.
