Each branch of service offers their own program to cover military spouses. Although the programs tend to focus on giving military spouses which are living overseas with their active duty spouse, some may cover military spouses living stateside.  The U.S. Army is one branch that provides military spouse tuition assistance for spouses living in the United States. 

The tuition assistance programs for military spouses are spearheaded by the service's relief agencies.

• Army spouse tuition assistance is administered by the Army Emergency Relief (Overseas)
• Army spouse tuition assistance is administered by the Army Emergency Relief (Stateside)
• Navy spouse tuition assistance is administered by the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society
• Air Force spouse tuition assistance is administered by Air Force Aid Society
• Marine Corps spouse tuition assistance is administered by the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society

Although the military spouses are not covered by the same tuition assistance benefits that their active duty spouses receive, the money obtained by making use of the above listed military spouse tuition assistance programs will help to defray the costs associated with working towards a college degree.
