Scholarship Information:

In conjunction with our goals and supported by the Tenth Mountain Division Foundation, this $1000 scholarship will be awarded to the one entering first year descendant who has demonstrated meritorious service to the World War II 10th Mountain Division above all other descendants who apply. The scholarship money will be given as the descendant enters his/her first year at an accredited institute of higher learning and will be paid directly to such institution by the Tenth Mountain Division Foundation.

Who:

Given to one descendant entering the freshman year at an accredited institute of higher learning.

Amount:

$1000 for freshman year only and will be paid through the Tenth Mountain Division Foundation directly to the accredited institute of higher learning. 10th Mountain Division Descendants, Inc will support this scholarship in full.

Criteria:

This scholarship will be granted on Merit, rather than Need. The descendant will have shown meritorious service to members of the World War II 10th Mountain Division by completing various projects dedicated to or for the 10th.

Some service project examples:

• The descendant can give service in the Chapter's On Belay Project.
• The descendants can give service in the Tenth Mountain Hut System.
• The descendant can assist at local Chapter functions.
• The descendant can assist at Memorial Services to the 10th Mountain Division.
• The descendant can be involved in activities that support the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division.
• The descendant can organize a 10th Mountain Division Service Project through his/her school, religious or civic organization.
• The descendant can visit 10th veterans and/or wives or widows in nursing or private homes.
