Ohio War Orphans Scholarship: Support amount per award: Scholarships are for general and instructional fees. Students attending Ohio non-profit institutions of higher education and proprietary schools will receive amounts no greater than the average amount paid for students attending public institutions.
Eligibility: Applicants must be between the ages of 16-21; must be an Ohio resident for one year preceding date of award, must have recommendation from high school principal. Applicant must attend an eligible Ohio institution of higher education. Veteran parent(s) must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces for 90 days or more during period of war, have died or have been discharged with at least 60% disability or a 100% non-service-connected disability. Children of persons listed as POW or MIA while serving in Southeast Asia 8/5/64 and 5/7/75, also eligible. The Ohio War Orphans Scholarship Board determines the number of awards and applicant eligibility.
